From a very early age Aki has always had a passion for music, starting in elementary school singing classes. She was encouraged by her teachers to attend the Tokyo Kosei girls school where the band music teachers were conductors and performers of the renowned wind orchestra of the same name. There she took up the clarinet where she kept herself busy performing at festivities, and community concerts, and the band managed to win some awards and public recognition along the way. In Canada, she has been with Etobicoke Community Concert Band for almost 10 years, and has enjoyed every minute.  She has been a Concert Master for a few years now.
